Privacy policy
What personal data we collect when you plan or book a trip, why we use it, who we share it with and your rights.

1. Who is responsible for your data
Egypt Trip Maker (egypttripmaker.com) decides how your personal data is used and is responsible for it (the "controller"). For any privacy question or request, message us on WhatsApp or call +20 106 400 9275, or write to us through our contact page.
2. What we collect
- Details you give us: your name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, country, how you prefer to be contacted, and your trip wishes (dates, number and ages of travelers, interests, budget, special needs or notes).
- Booking details: the trip you choose, names of travelers, and when you accept a proposal, the date, time, IP address and browser of that acceptance, kept as a record of the agreement.
- Messages: emails and WhatsApp messages you send us. If our AI trip assistant is switched on and you use it, the conversation is saved so our team can follow up.
- Website use: our host, Vercel, counts page visits and page speed without cookies and without identifying you. Only if you click "Accept all" on our cookie notice, Google Analytics measures visits (pages viewed, device type, approximate location, how you found us). We also keep a short record of the advert or link that brought you to us (for example a campaign code) for 30 days.
- Security data: basic technical data (such as IP address) to protect our forms from spam and abuse.
We do not ask for passport numbers on the website. If they are needed for permits, hotels or cruises, we ask for them directly when your booking is confirmed.
3. Why we use it
- To answer your questions and prepare your trip proposal (because you asked us to: steps before a contract).
- To book and run your trip, and to stay in touch before and during travel (to perform our contract with you).
- To keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation).
- To protect our website, prevent fraud and improve our service (our legitimate interests).
- To measure website use with Google Analytics (only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
We never sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions with legal effects.
4. Who we share it with
We share only what is needed. Suppliers who deliver your trip receive the details they need: hotels, Nile cruises, drivers, guides, airlines and site permit offices.
Service providers who help us run the website and our work:
- Vercel (website hosting, privacy-friendly visit statistics and photo storage, United States)
- Supabase (our database, United States)
- Resend (sending emails, European Union)
- Sentry (error monitoring, European Union; we do not record your screen)
- Google (Google Analytics, only with your consent)
- Meta / WhatsApp (when you choose to chat with us on WhatsApp)
- AI model providers through Vercel AI Gateway, only if our AI assistant is switched on and you use it
We also share data with authorities when the law requires it.
5. International transfers
Our team is in Egypt and some of our service providers are in the United States or the European Union. When your data moves between countries, we rely on our providers' contractual safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) and keep the data to what is needed.
6. How long we keep it
- Trip requests that do not become a booking: up to 3 years after our last contact, so we can help if you come back.
- Bookings and payment records: as long as accounting and tax rules require.
- Website visit statistics: Google Analytics keeps them for 14 months.
- You can ask us to delete your data sooner, unless we must keep it by law.
7. How we protect it
Your data is sent over encrypted connections, stored in access-controlled systems, and only our team members who need it can see it. Our forms are protected against spam and automated abuse.
8. Cookies and similar storage
- Essential: remembering your cookie choice, the trips you save with the heart button (stored only in your browser), and keeping you signed in to your trip page (a secure cookie for up to 30 days).
- Optional (only after "Accept all"): Google Analytics and the 30-day record of which link brought you to us.
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU or UK GDPR, California, Canada, Australia or Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law), you can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, restrict or object to how we use it, and withdraw consent. Contact us on WhatsApp or by phone at +20 106 400 9275, or through our contact page, and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell or "share" personal data for cross-context advertising.
10. Children
Our website is for adults planning travel. We only process children's details (such as name and age) when a parent or guardian gives them to us for a booking.
11. Marketing
We do not send newsletters or marketing messages unless you ask to receive them. Messages about your trip are part of our service.
12. Changes
We will update this page if the way we use data changes, and show the date of the latest version at the top.
13. Contact
Phone or WhatsApp +20 106 400 9275, or our contact page. We reply within an hour, 24/7.
